Rip Rap

We Have The Right Materials For You

Rip Rap is permanent erosion-resistant ground cover of large, loose, angular stone used primarily to protect stream beds, shorelines, bridge abutments, pilings, slopes, and other shoreline structures from water erosion due to concentrated runoff. It is used to stabilize slopes that are unstable due to seepage.  It is also used to slow the velocity of concentrated runoff which in turn increases the potential for infiltration.

Erosion Control

Our rocks are classified properly so you can buy the right size and type for your erosion control projects. They are also available in different color variations. With the right color combination, the rip rap will also boost the aesthetic appeal of the area where it is installed.

There are different methods that you can adopt to prevent erosion in your property. Some of the popular erosion control methods include the use of fabric or geo-textile, planting vegetation, and building retaining walls. But another option that won't hurt your pockets is the installation of rip rap on areas susceptible to erosion.

  • Wind Erosion

Wind erosion is also a concern of most Arizona property owners. If your property's topography is flat, barren, dry, and mainly composed of sandy soil, you need to consider adding an erosion control mechanism.

Adding vegetation can be a costly endeavor, so your best option is to adopt a cheaper and more effective alternative such as adding rocks or rip rap on barren areas in your property.

  • Water Erosion

One of the areas where rip rap is commonly used is on drainage channels or streams. It provides a stable lining that will resist water erosion.

It is also recommended on areas where infiltration is needed. Other types of erosion that is caused by water include splash, sheet, rill, gully, and bank erosion.

  • Waterfront

Installing a rip rap is the most common method of shoreline protection. It is effective in decreasing wave activity and the damages that the latter can cause on shoreline soil.

If you have a beachfront property, you should always be concerned about beach erosion. This may affect the natural beauty of the beach area and reduce the market value of your property.
